Cape colonial was originally built for granite quarry workers in the 1800's. Sliding glass doors open to the stone terrace where you can overlook the expansive flat lawn and McHeard's Cove. Enjoy the private back yard on those warm summer evenings. Forgot a book? There is a substantial library in the living room and there is the Town Library within walking distance. An assortment of games awaits. The play ground and boat ramp are just past the Post Office, where they have picnic tables overlooking the bay and moored boats. If you have a boat and would like to bring it along, the boat ramp is close by and has easy access. This is also a great area to to kayak, canoe or paddle board. If you don't have a craft you can rent locally. Curtis Cove is just a short walk where you will find great ledges and sandy beaches. You may even see wildlife, such as deer, fox, mink, ducks, gulls, osprey, hawks, and/or eagles during your stay!

We enjoyed our stay in East Blue Hill at this lovely house. In the mornings we saw osprey and a bald eagle hunting in the small bay right outside the back door. We rented kayaks and paddled through the calm beautiful coves along the shore. It is a great location for visiting Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Mt. Desert, or for hanging around the house and reading or playing games.

The patio and back yard are awesome for all kinds of activities. Plenty of games are ready to go. The library is extensive. Comfortable home. Really like Curtis Cove beach and ledges just down the road. Great hiking trails nearby. Day trips to Acadia National Park were amazing.
