Sun filled days and genuine dark night skies await you in our 1450 sq. ft. home. It's close to the town of Crestone, Sand Dunes National Park, Spiritual Centers, Wetlands/Wildlife Reserve, Hot Springs, Penitente canyon and National Forest. Revive yourself in peace and quite surrounded by spectacular views of 14,000 peaks and the Sand Dunes. A king bed in the master - a king bed and queen in the over sized loft, along with super comfy couches, a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms make for a truly enjoyable stay.

The house was built to our specifications in 2007. Designed to be a comfortable, welcoming space with an open floor plan and views from every window, it was our primary residence for over 6 years. With super efficient foam insulation, it stays cool in the summer and very warm in the winter. The master and both bathrooms have adjustable thermostats; the great room is heated by Crestone's standard ETS (electric heating system), or the wood stove if you prefer. Plus - it's a great passive solar home.

The 2nd half story is large (approximately 500 sq. ft.). There is a king and queen bed located in this visually private space with a privacy divider and sitting area separating the bed areas. The views from the 2nd story are marvelous.

In the living area is a flat screen TV that provides wireless programming. Enjoy your Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube or other sites via the provided Roku device.

The courtyard was handcrafted by John with a whimsical, undulating strawbale wall, pavestone walkways and tons of summer time flowers and fruit trees. It is a mecca for birds and butterflies alike and provides an exceptional outdoor space for dining and relaxing. Elk, deer and antelope often wander past in the winter months. Coyotes typically provide an evening serenade.

We love pets - but let's discuss any that you plan to bring and how to make their stay enjoyable too. There is an additional deposit of $50 for pets to be paid directly upon arrival.
