INSIDE THE HOUSE

Step through the large wooden door of this Cape Cod-style one-story house and you’re greeted by an open concept living area with 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands. Especially in the fall, the sunsets are spectacular and the cloud formations like nothing else you’ll see. Start your vacation out right with a glass of champagne, courtesy of the homeowner and offered to every guest.

Tear yourself away from the beach and come in for some sustenance in the open and updated kitchen. Cooking is a joy with granite counter tops, full-size stainless steel appliances and all the extras you’ll need like dishes and cookware. Pack light thanks to the stackable washer and dryer, found right inside the entry near the kitchen.

Dine with the beach as your backdrop at the 4-person dining table that has 2 extra chairs for additional guests. It’s also a great spot for family game night, with numerous board games stored underneath.

Finish the day watching movies on the 37” flat-screen television over the gas fireplace or enjoying good conversation around the leather sectional. Take the guesswork out of working the TV, DVD player and stereo, as most of the home’s electronics are controlled by a single smart remote.

Let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep in the master bedroom, with sliding glass door out to the deck. The master offers a king bed, high ceilings and shared bathroom with the second bedroom. The 2nd bathroom boasts a tile-top vanity and large walk-in tiled shower with privacy window.

In the second bedroom, two twin beds have under-the-bed storage with beach towels for guests to use. Guests also have access to a pack-and-play for the youngest visitors. If you’re staying in the 3rd bedroom, you’ll get a queen bed, large armoire, en-suite half bath and access to the back deck.

You’ll want to spend most of your day out on the back deck that leads right out to the beach. Keep meals simple and grill out on the deck’s gas grill and dine al fresco at the 8-person table. The deck also offers an outdoor shower to rinse off before heading inside and a storage bin full of beach toys for fun in the sand. Melt your stress away in the jetted hot tub or on one of the lounge or patio chairs overlooking the crashing waves.

OUR LOCATION

While Faria Beach is literally at your doorstep, the area is also home to several other great beaches like Mondo Beach (6 minutes) and Solimar Beach (2 minutes).

Head south toward Ventura (20 minutes) and take the ferry to the picturesque Channel Islands or visit the Ventura Pier with rock sculptures, fishing and other fun activities.

About 25 minutes to the north, Santa Barbara offers plenty for visitors of all ages, including the Santa Barbara Zoo, Stearns Wharf and the waterfront.
